What's up!

On coming together in 2002, Dring Toy music was a lighthearted and uncomplicated Electro using improvisation as a means of overcoming the geographical distance separating band-members. Made-up of 4 Bretons, one of whom lived in exile in Lyon, the group gradually developed numbers using the internet and written correspondance as a means of communication. Each concert they gave became a way of experimenting, musical numbers being developed at a great distance and sometimes band members discovered the results of these compositions at the same time as the audience at their concerts, who have greeted the music with great enthusiasm along with concert organisers. The groups identity develops as they re-organise,make choices and discover themselves, their own unique sound and the way they wish it to develop. Re-united geographically, Dring Toy becomes part of a dj pistolero with rapid and incisive scratches, precise and inspired, earning them the title of Champion of France 2004-2005 DMC and ITF. Dj Or d'Oeuvre on discs takes a place alongside a multi-instrumental line-up of machine operator (sequencer-sampler), guitar-machine operator, keyboard-harmonica and bass-player (with/without bow) violin ??- vocals. Very rapidly, this line-up proves successful, with mincreasingly adventurous compositions. The groups musical universe becomes enriched whilst keeping its musical base restricted. Slow, langourous dub mixes with energetic drums and bass, powerful rock to bring to life a rich and highly individual musical form. After a powerful 1st album released in September 2005, a remarkable show the last transmusicales and continuing to respect its ethos of creative exploration, Dring Toy is developing a sharp and powerful live set full of surprises.
